Body Recovery Training Manikin | Ruth Lee
Ruth Lee Body Recovery Manikin, or the drowning victim search training manikin, was created for training police diving teams in recovering drowning victims from inland waters or under ice. The realistic size and weight, along with the face and hair, make the manikin resemble a drowning victim in an underwater environment. This allows practice in conditions with almost zero visibility underwater for searching and identifying a drowning victim by touch.
Materials are used in the manikin's construction to make it visible to sonar equipment. The manikin is available in three sizes: toddler with a length of 0.9 m and weight of 10 kg, youth with a length of 1.3 m and weight of 30 kg, and adult with a length of 1.8 m and weight of 50 kg. The adult-sized manikin weighs 10 kg underwater.
