We can divide lifejackets mainly into two types: self-inflating lifejackets and Personal Floatation Devices (PFD).
Self-inflating life jackets are comfortable to wear, and inflation happens when the wearer needs it most - inflated automatically by contact with water or by manual opening.
PFD's may seem more cumbersome to wear, but they keep the wearer safe all the time. Due to their constant buoyancy and ease of use, these life jackets are used almost everywhere for water-related activities - from boating and watersports to lifeguards and water rescuers.
